Becoming a football Coach

grassroots football relies on volunteers to coach teams at all levels. without these coaches player development would be non-existent. Coaches really are the heartbeat of every team.

At PTJ and AFC Petersfield we welcome volunteers to become football coaches for our teams.

Without volunteer coaches we simply wouldn't have football teams.

If you have a passion for wanting to develop players, assist players understand football and help players embrace the beautiful game, then coaching is for you.

Coaching is very rewarding: watching players develop their ability, from U8 through to U18, providing a safe environment for players to have fun.

All our coaches must complete an FA DBS check and complete the FA safeguarding course.

The process to become a coach ;

1 - Contact the Club Secretary to register your interest in Coaching for PTJ or AFC (email link below)

2 - Complete a DBS check with the FA (all our coaches are DBS checked). The club will pay for this process.

3 - Complete the relevant FA courses. These are the FA safeguarding course and the FA Coaching football course. The club will reimburse you for the course costs.

The Club actively support its coaches, and takes pride in developing coaches to fulfil their maximum potential.

Email the club secretary ( David Wands) to register your interest in becoming a coach.
